Detained Imo Broadcaster Released From DSS Custody

Apostle Casmir Uzoma, a broadcasting journalist, who was arrested by the Nigerian secret police DSS after playing a Bongo music song whose lyrics were deemed offensive to the Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma has been released from Custody. He has been however sacked from  Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC ) according to sources.


Casmir, a staff in the technical department of Orient Fm/Television, a station under the Imo Broadcasting Corporation, was arrested on August 4 by the DSS in Owerri, Imo state capital.

He was accused of playing the ‘Udele na eri ozu’ song during a live broadcast at the Imo state-owned station.
