Police Protest Non-payment of 18 Months’ Salaries In Osun

Dozens of policemen on Wednesday protested the non-payment of their 18-months’ salary. The police constables, recruited to complement the police structure in the state by providing intelligence, were inaugurated in May 2021, at Police Headquarters, Osun State, after their training in April 2021.

The protesting policemen converged at Osogbo Grammar School area and marched through the street to the popular Oke-Fia roundabout to register their grievances.

Constable Tijani Adewale, who spoke on behalf of the protesting policemen lamented that three of their colleagues have lost their lives in the course of discharging their duties, despite being owed several months’ salary The protesters were dressed in police uniforms and armed with placards bearing different inscriptions.
